Alloy steel pipe fittings are alloyed with a range of alloys. The content of alloys determines the properties and corrosion resistance properties of the fitting.   • Alloy steel short radius elbow has a radius of curvature which is equal to the outer diameter. Alloys steel long radius elbow is a module whose radius of curvature is 1.5 times that of its outer diameter.
  • A short radius elbow is used in tight areas, while long radius elbows are preferred in normal working conditions.
  • Long radius elbows are long lasting and perform well when there is wear and tear in the system when compared to a short radius elbow.

  • Alloy steel tee is shaped like a T, while a lateral alloy steel tee is shaped like a Y.
  • In an alloy tee, the 2 outlets are opposite to each other, with the branch port at 90 degrees. In a lateral tee, the 2 outlets are also in opposite directions; however, the branch port may be at 45 or 60 degrees.

Plain tubes can be welded on both ends, welded on the input end and expanded on the exit end, or both ends expanded.

When the tubes are only expanded, the process must be done with expanders that have parallel rollers, and the enlarged section of the tube must be parallel throughout the tube plate's thickness. The input end of expanding tubes can also be bell-mouthed or beaded.

Before welding, the tube should be minimally inflated to grab the tube hole where it is welded to the tube plate.

  • D = Outside tube diameter in millimetres
  • C = Corrosion allowance of 0.75 mm, but only for
